Save Our NHS Leicester, Leicester and Rutland have been collaborating with Health Workers for a Free Palestine. They are campaigning against Palintir a campaign we are happy to support.
Palantir is a US tech company, initially funded by the CIA, specialising in AI-powered military and surveillance technology and data analytics. They describe their military technologies as offering customers (which include the US military, ICE, the UK Ministry of Defence and the Israeli government) “mission-tested capabilities, forged in the field” to deliver “a tactical edge – by land, air, sea and space”.
In November 2023, Palantir was awarded a £330 million contract by NHS England to create a new data management system called the Federated Data Platform (FDP).
